Los Aminoácidos

Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins . They are directly involved in muscle repair, tissue growth, energy production, and recovery after physical exertion.

In other words: training hard without an adequate supply of amino acids is like building a brick wall (which would be the proteins) but without a gripping material (which would be the amino acids).

Although they are often mentioned together, BCAAs and EAAs are not the same, and understanding the difference helps you choose better according to your goal.

🔹 BCAA (Branched-chain amino acids)

BCAAs are three essential amino acids :

  • Leucine
  • Isoleucine
  • Valina

Its main function is to protect the muscle during training and reduce muscle fatigue.

Advantages:

  • They help reduce muscle catabolism
  • They provide energy during exercise
  • Useful during intense workouts or while fasting

🔹 EAA (Essential Amino Acids)

EAAs include the 9 essential amino acids that the body cannot produce:

  • The 3 BCAAs plus the other 6 essential ones needed for muscle repair and growth

This means that EAAs offer complete support for protein synthesis , recovery, and maintenance of muscle mass.

Advantages:

  • They activate and complete protein synthesis
  • They improve post-workout recovery
  • More effective at preserving muscle in a calorie deficit

Which one to choose?

  • BCAAs → timely support during training
  • EAA → the most complete and effective option for real results

You can take them pre-workout, during workout, or post-workout:

before training if you train fasted or with few calories.

During training in long or intense sessions.

After training, if you don't have a protein shake (which usually includes a good percentage of amino acids in its composition).

And most importantly: Always consult your doctor and trainer before taking this or any other supplement, and let them decide the best dosage for you.
